Mission Statement

The Alberta Greenhouse Growers Association (AGGA) is an association of growers, educators and allied trades people whose mission is to serve its members by promoting and strengthening the industry in Alberta.

  • To create a positive image and increase cooperation between and among controlled environment growers, allied trades people and other horticultural organizations
  • To promote a positive public awareness of the controlled environment industry.
  • To establish positive affiliations with other sectors of the horticultural industry.
  • To strengthen, support and develop education and research for the controlled environment industry.
  • To act as a resource and assist members in marketing.

Function and Service

  • Participates in delivery of educational workshops/seminars for growers.
  • Supports greenhouse research by giving direction to research groups and funding specific projects.
  • Quarterly newsletter providing timely information to members regarding industry research, news, developments, policy and association activities.
  • Assist with formulation of agricultural policy as it relates to horticulture.
  • Represents industry on the following councils & associations:

    • Alberta Agriculture and Food
    • Council of Alberta Horticultural Industries (CAHI)
    • Alberta Agricultural Food Council (AAFC)
