Last year Alberta Agriculture and Forestry completed energy and waste audits for a number of greenhouse facilities in Alberta, in order to establish benchmarks for energy use and waste management practices. Based on the results, we have developed the “Self-Assessment and Best Management Practices of Energy, Water and Waste in Alberta Greenhouses”. It includes two components: a self-assessment and best management practices (BMP).  The self-assessment will help you identify aspects of your operation that may benefit from changes. At the end of each section you will see how you rated - you are aiming for as many points as possible!  The BMP will provide recommendations and resources for further improvement. Based on your self-assessment and the BMP, you may identify areas of improvement eligible for Growing Forward 2 funding.
